Welcome to Winter Team Tryout INFO page for F.C. Portland Academy!
Winter Team Tryout Registration Form (PDF)
Winter Team Tryout Information (PDF)
We hope this information provides you with a great picture of the U15-U18 tryout process and the 2010-2011 soccer season.
F.C. Portland coaches bios will give you a clear picture of our staff and their background. Our goal is to develop each player, while also preparing them to be successful against the highest levels of competition from other parts of the Pacific Northwest and the country, through travel and league play.
For the players selected this year, you will realize the benefits of the new training programs that were developed during the 2009-2010 season. Now, the new teams will be formed and will focus immediately on preparing for stronger competition through our membership in US Club Soccer, The Oregon Premier League (OPL), Northwest Champions League (NWCL) and for our U15-U16 and U17-U18 Boys, the Western College Development Academy (WCDA).
What do we look for at tryouts?
Very simply, coaches look for players who have a passion for the game and who have the technical, tactical, mental and physical skills to compete at the highest levels. Each coach may also consider specific team strengths and a player’s commitment to the overall goals of our total program.

SEATTLE (June 14, 2010) – A new premier youth soccer program focused on established, elite clubs delivering consistent, high-quality competition and college readiness services for its members launches today. Twenty-four youth soccer clubs across the western United States have formed the Western College Development Academy, which debuts this summer with teams representing clubs in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada and Colorado.
A primary objective of the WCDA is to provide consistent high-quality competition and enhanced college readiness opportunities for their elite soccer players. The Academy will also provide an improved scouting environment for college coaches by bringing all of the teams together for a showcase event in Las Vegas, Nevada in November, 2010. In addition, the WCDA is creating a College Advisory Board composed of coaches from Division I, II and III soccer programs who will provide guidance and direction over the college readiness component of the Academy.
