Program Description
Program Description FC Portland’s Junior Academy Program is a dynamic, year-long opportunity for young soccer players to learn new skills and discover how to progress toward the next level of competition. Our Junior Academy Director oversees every practice session. We work closely with our players within a professional training environment to teach the many technical skills that today’s players need to improve as they grow. The program is designed to benefit the young player who has a joy for the game, who has good work habits, and who is motivated to further develop his or her natural talent.

FC Portland is very proud of our Junior Academy. We believe it is the foundation of the soccer club. Our philosophy is to make sure the players love soccer while improving their skills. We work a lot on decision making and allowing our players to have confidence in making their own choices.

Our Director, Jason Carney, has a proven record of improving the soccer skills and knowledge of young players. He spent six years coaching professionally in England for Preston North End youth Academy.
