F.C. Portland Academy is pleased to announce and honored to be a founding member of the Oregon Premier League, a formal consortium of eight of the top competitive soccer programs within the Portland, Oregon region.
Together, these clubs have won 125 of 160 the most recent Oregon State Cup titles.

Our scholarships assist with tuition costs / training fees for thr4e season, and the process for applying is listed below. I am starting to schedule the application-interview meetings with families and would encourage you to contact me early.
Since we have a set amount of funding available for the upcoming year, there will only be a very small amount of scholarship grants available after tryouts.
The application-interview meetings will ideally be scheduled and completed prior to tryouts and I am available during both the daytime and the evening (limited) hours.

Welcome to U10 Team Observations with FC Portland! We hope that this information will help you make your
way through the 2010-2011 soccer season. Please refer to www.fcportland.org for information regarding U11-U14 Team Tryouts.
Who may attend the U10 Observations?
If you are a player in good standing who was born between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2002, you are eligible for selection to one of our U10 Teams and welcome to participate in the U10 observations.
How do I register for the U10 Observations?
Please complete the 2010-2011 U10 Team Observation Form and return it to the FC Portland Academy office or bring the completed form to the first observation day on Tuesday, May 11. There is no fee to participate in the U10 Team Observations.

On Friday, June 11th, F.C. Portland will host the Clive Charles Memorial Golf Tournament at Langdon Farms Golf Club.
This event is extremely important to our club – not only for its
ability to link members together, but as a fundraiser capable of raising the funds to support our Scholarship Program. In the 2009-2010 season, the Scholarship Program provided assistance to over 50 families within the club – enabling players the opportunity to receive high quality training and to participate in a sport that provides benefits beyond the sidelines.
 1st Prize: $1500 Cash
2nd Prize: $500 Cash
3rd Prize: $500 Cash
The F.C. Portland Player who sells the 1st Prize Ball wins a $250 Player Scholarship!

The Far Post continues to be one of the key sponsors to the Academy and in recent years, has taken on the lead sponsorship role with the Clive Charles Memorial Golf tournament, which will be held this year on June 11th at Langdon Farms Golf Club.

2010 Gatorade Players of the Year for the State of Oregon
Congratulations Sarah Bridges / Thomas Iwasaki
For the second straight year, F.C. Portland is honored to congratulate two Academy players, Sarah Bridges and Thomas Iwasaki, for their selection as the top players in the state of Oregon through Gatorade’s National Program.
In 2009, the Gatorade selections were Jonathan Flores and Kendall Johnson, both Academy players. Flores is on the current U18 Men’s team and Johnson just completed her freshman year at the University of Portland, earning membership on the All-American Freshman Team honors.

ARCHIEVE NEWS
Born in 1951, Clive Charles grew up playing street soccer before joining West Ham United youth teams at the age of 12. When he turned 15, Clive signed with the English First Division club West Ham United as an apprentice, following in the footsteps of his older brother John. Clive turned professional and joined the first team in 1970. The club loaned him briefly (1971-1972) to the Montreal oin Canada - part of the North American Soccer League (NASL). In 1972, the defender made the first of his 14 League and 1 Cup appearances for “The Hammers”.
