From our Jr. Academy to our U19 State Cup teams, F.C. Portland offers programs for players at every stage in their soccer development.  Here is a brief look at what a player and his/her family can expect to experience as they progress through the years at F.C. Portland Academy:

Under 8 - 10
• Players can enter the club as young as U8 within the Jr. Academy Development Program. The 11-month Development Program offers players opportunities to participate in both Fall and Spring Outdoor Leagues, indoor Futsal training in the winter, and select local tournaments during the summer. JUNIOR ACADEMY
Under 11
• 1st year of Competitive Soccer Tryouts.
• 1st season of Fall Competitive Soccer.
• Players are able to participate in the Ice Cream Cup Futsal Tournament during the winter, hosted by F.C. Portland.
• Players are offered opportunities to receive additional training in the Sr. Academy Summer Program.
• Teams are eligible to participate in OYSA State Cup competition.
Under 12
• Teams are eligible to travel out of state to participate in regional tournaments.
• Players are able to participate in the Ice Cream Cup Futsal Tournament during the winter, hosted by F.C. Portland.
• Players are offered opportunities to receive additional training in the Sr. Academy Summer Program.
• Teams are eligible to compete in the Far West Regional Tournament. 
Under 13
• Teams travel more extensively and attend more tournaments to gain experience playing against highly competitive clubs from outside the state. 
• Players are able to participate in the Ice Cream Cup Futsal Tournament during the winter, hosted by F.C. Portland.
• Players are offered opportunities to receive additional training in the Sr. Academy Summer Program.
• Players are working towards making a spot on the Manchester United Cup team.
Under 14
• Final season of Fall Competitive Soccer.
• Players are eligible to tryout for the Manchester United Cup team to play in the U.S. Finals.
• Girls are offered Summer Training at Catlin Gable. 
Under 15
• 1st season of Winter Competitive Soccer.
• Boys are eligible to tryout for the U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team.
• Girls will be eligible to tryout for the U16 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team in 2009.
• Teams will participate in Winter College Showcases.
Under 16
• Boys are eligible to tryout for the U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Teams.
• Girls will be eligible to tryout for the U16 and U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Teams in 2009.
• Teams will participate in Winter College Showcases.
• Summer Program includes training and playing with U16-Collegiate players on a bi-weekly basis. 
Under 17
• Boys are eligible to tryout for the U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team.
• Girls will be eligible to tryout for the U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team in 2009.
• Teams will participate in Winter College Showcases.
• Summer Program includes training and playing with U16-Collegiate players on a bi-weekly basis. 
Under 18
• Boys are eligible to tryout for the U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team.
• Girls will be eligible to tryout for the U18 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Team in 2009.
• Teams will participate in Winter College Showcases.
• Summer Program includes training and playing with U16-Collegiate players on a bi-weekly basis. 
Under 19
• Players will have the opportunity to form U19 Teams after their collegiate spring seasons have concluded.  These teams will be eligible to compete in OYSA’s State Cup Finals and vie for a bid to Far West Regionals.
• Summer Program includes training and playing with U16-Collegiate players on a bi-weekly basis.

CLUB FOUNDER:
Clive Charles
Born in 1951, Clive Charles grew up playing street soccer before joining West Ham United youth teams at the age of 12. When he turned 15, Clive signed with the English First Division club West Ham United as an apprentice, following in the footsteps of his older brother John. Clive turned professional and joined the first team in 1970. The club loaned him briefly (1971-1972) to the Montreal Olympique in Canada - part of the North American Soccer League (NASL). In 1972, the defender made the first of his 14 League and 1 Cup appearances for “The Hammers”.
